Low undulating hills, a patchwork of silver sage olive groves, vibrant green vineyards. A landscape that from every angle proudly exhibits it's rich history. Castle, country churches, hill top towns. Sunsets and many different tones and blends of color and light , that throughout the centuries have inspired famous artists. We are in Chianti - the heart of Tuscany.
The Chianti stretches from Florence to Siena and totals more than 170'000 acres of which 25'000 are dedicated to the cultivation of wine of certified and guaranteed origin, the Chianti Classico.
The village of Castellina in Chianti lies entirely in the Chianti Classico region. And it is here that we encounter the hamlet of Ricavo, exactly half way between Florence and Siena. A territorial border bitterly fought over for centuries between the two warring cities.
A landscape shaped by generations and generations of workers, farmers and stone masons.
